A Word from our Pastor:
Welcome to St Paul’s United Methodist Church’s website.
We’re glad you’ve visiting us here to find out more about our great church! We trust you’ll find all about how much we can offer to you and your family and do want you to come and visit us in person anytime. May I suggest coming to worship with us each and every Sunday morning as we praise the Lord Jesus Christ right here in the heart of downtown Orangeburg?
I trust that the Holy Spirit may have led you here to check out our church and we want you definitely to be a part of our growing church family here at St Paul’s. We are a Christ-centered, Bible believing church who celebrates together and apart that Jesus is Lord and Savior. God is actively calling us to be in fellowship together so that we can preach the Gospel, serve Him in outreach and experience the mighty power of the work of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in victorious living. That is who we are and abundant Life in Jesus Christ is what we lovingly offer to you here at St Paul’s.
Please come see us soon,
Homecoming - May 7, 2017
Dear Members and Friends of St. Paul’s,
The St. Paul’s United Methodist Church family excitedly extends a special invitation to you to join us as we celebrate 181 years of Methodism in Orangeburg. 2017 marks the 119th year since the dedication of our beautiful sanctuary.
At St. Paul’s we continue to live into these roots planted so long ago as we gather as the family of God every Sunday. And on Sunday, May 7, 2017, we will celebrate Homecoming Sunday. Mark your calendar and make sure you are here for this special service of worship. The celebration will begin at 10:15. Thumb through the hymnal and find your favorites! We will then have a wonderful worship service at 10:45 am followed by a covered dish luncheon in the Fellowship Hall.
Our Homecoming Speaker will be Rev. Ray K. Smith, pastor from 1998-2003. Ray and Sarah currently live in Lake View, S. C. Born in Athens, Tennessee, Ray is a graduate of Union College and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and served churches in South Carolina since 1974, including St. Paul’s, New Ellenton, St. Paul’s, Orangeburg, and Socastee United Methodist. Currently he is retired and supplies Lake View United Methodist.
Homecoming Day will be an exciting day filled with good singing, God’s Word, preaching and lots of fun, food, and fellowship.
If you are unable to be with us on this special Sunday, we hope that you will be in prayer for this celebration. Please send us a note and let us know how you are doing! Please participate by sending us a story of your journey of faith that happened at St. Paul’s. You are an important part of the family of God here at St. Paul’s. We thank God for all the people across the years who have been a part of our community of faith, hope, and love.
in His Grace,
Rev. William N. Harper (Will)
